The Wedding Plot by Paula Munier
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Who does not love a good mystery that involves K-9s? In the 4th installment of the Mercy & Elvis Mysteries, The Wedding Plot, Paula Munier does not disappoint. I have read all 3 previous books and I am a huge fan.
Basic rundown of the series facts. Mercy is former Military Police who while serving in Afghanistan her partner and love was killed in battle. He had and MP K-9, Elvis, who was retired and left the service with Mercy to rejoin civilian life. Mercy returns to her home town and does her best to deal with her loss and be with family and friends. Her malinois Elvis is her best friend and partner in crime. Mercy and Elvis are always finding themselves in the mix of things uch to the chagrin of local law enforcement. Mercy eventually starts to fall for her highschool crush Troy Warner who is now a Vermont Fish and Wildlife Game Warden. He and his Newfie Mix, Susie Bear round out a very colorful cast of characters.
In The Wedding Plot All of Mercy’s family and friends, including her K-9 companions, head to the Eshqua Bog Reserve for her Grandmother’s wedding to her long time beau. The yoga instructor goes missing and Mercy and Elvis are asked to help search for him. What ensues is a maze of escapades that have the whole family up in arms. I will say that the ending was a huge surprise to me and well worth the read.
I did listen to this installment on Audible as it was read by one of my favorite narrators, Kathleen McInerny. She does such a wonderful job fleshing out all of the characters. I highly recommend this book and the whole series for anyone looking for a great relaxing weekend read. Especially if you love mysteries and adorable K-9 companions.
